The Leander Chamber of Commerce gave the council a midyear update on July 1, reporting expanded programming, a forthcoming new office and visitor center, and a busy events calendar.
Chamber President Bridget Brandt said the organization is working on civil/site design for a new office that will include community collaboration space and a visitor center. She described a sharp rise in chamber outreach and programming: 102 business visitations, 248 survey calls, and 45 ribbon cuttings so far in 2025. “We’ve done 248, basically, they’re survey calls … 45 ribbon cuttings this year already, which is kind of insane,” Brandt told the council.
Brandt said the Chamber has focused lunches featuring local businesses and expanded training opportunities with low-cost workshops ($0–$40 range) and micro‑groups tailored to industry segments; she also described a Living Leander publication that will be split into separate visitor and resident guides for distribution to visitor centers in other markets. The Chamber cited economic impact from marquee events such as the Old Town Street Festival and noted new programming including a Women of Wilco event and a new New Year’s Eve “Grand Gala” to benefit the chamber foundation.
Council members thanked the Chamber for its outreach and advocacy. Brandt said the Chamber also provides behind‑the‑scenes support for businesses on topics including policy and regulatory questions, economic development assistance and visitor marketing.
Ending: The Chamber will continue outreach into the summer and fall; Brandt said tickets and registration for several fall and holiday events are open and encouraged council members to raise awareness in their networks.
