Fiscal court renews standing orders for routine payments, pass-throughs and grants management

At the first fiscal-court meeting of the new fiscal year, the Pike County Fiscal Court renewed a set of standing orders authorizing routine financial actions.
Treasurer Franklin presented a list of standing orders including: payroll training and incentive payments for elected officials contingent on documentation; authorization to the county clerk’s office to place or release liens and record deeds; authorization for routine mailings of solid-waste bills; standing checks to the circuit clerk for filing fees and law-librarian statutory payments; reimbursements to the sheriff’s office for pass-through federal deputy salaries; ACH payments to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for nonfederal cost shares on a floodproofing feasibility study; drawdown requests for the county clerk’s record-storage fund; payment authorization to a veterinary clinic for animal-shelter spay/neuter services when approved; and authorization for opioid-settlement fund expenditures per the county’s opioid settlement committee.
Commissioner Atkins moved to renew the standing orders and Commissioner Lewis seconded. The court approved the standing orders by roll call with Commissioners Scott, Atkins, Lewis and Judge Jones recorded as voting “yes.”
