Resident urges consistent process and public notice for Bentley Ranch PUD

Charlotte Montgomery, a resident, urged the Jenks City Council to apply consistent standards and public-notice procedures to the Bentley Ranch planned unit development (PUD) and similar subdivision proposals.
Montgomery told the council she had discussed Bentley Ranch with the city planner after the planning commission meeting and again after the council session. She said both the zoning change and the PUD "require public hearing," and that discussion during a PUD review may include topics such as nodes, links and fire access. "By code, for a PUD, whether it's first presented or it's a major amendment, you have public notice and you have public comment," she said.
Montgomery asked the council to be consistent in requiring amenities and dispersal elements for large developments, citing past projects such as Frasier Meadows, Frasier Falls and Kimberly Estates. She said a past motion did not include dispersal requirements and asked the council to adopt a standard package or requirements so the public would know expectations in advance.
Mayor Box and other council members responded that comments were informational and suggested council members or staff schedule a meeting to develop consistent guidance. Box invited councilors and staff to set a meeting with the planner to produce a standard package for future subdivisions.
