Pitkin County board approves submission of $50,000 DOLA grant for local crisis intervention training

Raleigh Bacharach, Mental Health Program Administrator for Pitkin County Public Health, told the board the request would fund a locally delivered 40‑hour CIT course for 20–25 participants and allocate about $10,000 for data tracking and program evaluation. She said the training is nationally recognized and is aimed at improving first responders’ responses to individuals experiencing behavioral‑health crises.
The commissioners approved the resolution on an informal reading during a specially noticed session. The board then voted “aye” and the special meeting record shows the resolution was accepted to allow the county to submit the DOLA application within the program’s short deadline.
