Wright County drainage trustees set public hearing on joint district, review new work order and approve claims

The Wright County Board of Supervisors, meeting in its capacity as Drainage Trustees, set a public hearing for Joint Drainage District 46‑92 and reviewed a new work order for a failing tile in Belmont Township, then approved drainage invoices totaling $14,565.60.

The trustees voted to set a public hearing on the petition to annex land into Joint Drainage District 46‑92 for Aug. 4, 2025, at 10 a.m. The motion to set the date was moved by Cloos and seconded by Webster County Supervisor Nathan Montgomery; the motion carried. The record shows the hearing was set to consider the engineer’s report and related annexation materials for Joint Drainage District 46‑92.

Trustees also reviewed a new work order reported for Sub Drainage District 106 in Section 32 of Belmont Township. According to the report made by Chris Vaness, crews exposing a tile found concrete in a shallow location that "is beginning to crumble"; staff said the tile should be replaced and highlighted the section on a district map. The board approved drainage claims presented at the meeting. The clerk reported three claims that had been listed in the minutes: Mansky Farm Drainage (listed with one line-item $30.76 and a separate amount of $11,540 for a main in Section 16 of Wall Lake Township), and two invoices to Mahzian Construction (BD 30, Section 29 of Pleasant Township for $1,278.90; BD 109, Section 1 of Norway Township for $1,746.70). Trustees also reviewed several individual contractor invoices that the clerk said would be assessed back to petitioners where applicable: Nymaster (drainage engineer) $980 for annexation work on Joint Drainage District 46‑92; Aaron’s Brothers Tiling invoices ranging from $200 to $1,500 covering work in Drainage Districts 35, 58, 97, 121, 130, 131 and 177 (individual amounts detailed in clarifying details). The trustees signed the presented invoices and approved payment.
