The Lake Oswego School District Board of Directors on Tuesday approved a two‑year tentative agreement with the Lake Oswego Education Association (LOEA).
District negotiators presented the principal financial terms to the board: a 3.625% cost‑of‑living adjustment in the first year paired with one furlough day, and a 3.25% COLA in the second year with no furlough day. Administration also reported a non‑economic memorandum of understanding that preserves the rainbow schedule for middle schools — a rotating seven‑period day first implemented three years earlier.
Assistant superintendent/staff negotiator (presenting) told the board the agreement was ratified by LOEA membership earlier in the month and requested board approval so contract payroll and budgeting systems for FY 2025–26 could be put in place.
A board member moved and another seconded approval. Directors voted by voice to approve the two‑year negotiated agreement.
Board members and staff characterized the outcome as a fair settlement reached after bargaining; the board said keeping predictable schedules and ensuring contract ratification in time for fiscal‑year systems were priorities in approving the agreement.
