The change, described to the board during a lengthy debate by Chair Miles, allows a department director to execute short-term human services contracts not to exceed 90 days when needed to avoid disruption of services, requires the director to notify the full county board within seven days when such a contract is executed, and requires committee and board review before extending or materially amending those contracts.
