Board declines athletic‑director MOU tied to CIF switch, approves special‑education program specialist job description

The Tahoe‑Truckee Unified School District board on June 25 declined to approve Memorandum of Understanding No. 5 with the Tahoe‑Truckee Education Association related to athletic‑director duties that staff had negotiated to permit athletic directors to support a CIF transition. Trustees said that because the district has decided not to switch leagues at this time, the MOU is no longer necessary.
Executive Director of Human Resources Michael Shepherd explained staff had posted a management position description and later discovered three bullets missing from the posted job description. The board reviewed the revised program specialist, special education job description and voted to approve the updated version (motion, second, voice vote). The revised description will be used to post or recruit for the position.
The MOU decline and job‑description approval were taken as separate personnel items; trustees directed staff to proceed with recruitment under the corrected job description and to close out the MOU matter since the CIF transition is not being pursued at this time.
