Bound Brook board adopts resolution honoring retiring business administrator Michael C. Gorski

At its June 25 public meeting the Bound Brook Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution honoring Michael C. Gorski on the occasion of his retirement after 26 years in school business administration, including his service as the district’s school business administrator and board secretary.

The resolution, read aloud by board member Miss Hai and moved from the floor, thanked Gorski for “unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership and a steadfast commitment to the students, staff and community,” and commemorated 26 years of service. The board recorded the motion and carried it on a roll call vote.

Board members and colleagues spoke at the meeting about Gorski’s role in reorganizing board practices and strengthening district finances. In his remarks, Gorski said the district overhauled its financial reporting so that reports are “balanced, relevant, and reliable,” noted that approximately 60 percent to two‑thirds of budget spending is now directed to student instruction, and credited recent unblemished audit performance and increases in district surplus and reserve accounts to the changes implemented during his tenure.

Several board members and community representatives offered personal thanks. Board members praised his “children‑first” approach, long hours and collaborative style. The board presented a small gift and said additional items would be forthcoming; a ceremonial recognition and final details were scheduled before his formal departure.
