The council on June 25 approved a request-for-qualifications selection and authorized the mayor to finalize agreements with four engineering firms for on-call services: Atlas Engineers; Croix Engineering; American Engineers, Inc. (doing business as STV Services); and Patterson & Duar (names presented as in procurement packet).
City staff said the firms were chosen following a procurement and evaluation process led by the finance and purchasing staff; shortlisted firms met qualifications in transportation, civil engineering, environmental and utility engineering and program/project management. City Manager said the selections will support upcoming SPLOST projects and other capital and program-management needs and that the approved agreements will allow the city to call firm services as needed and within budget.
Council approved the RFQ award on a recorded voice vote and authorized the mayor to finalize and execute agreements with the selected firms.
Staff said firms will be engaged as needed and will provide scope, schedule and cost estimates for each task requested; any contract work requiring amounts above procurement thresholds will be brought to council for approval.
