The Clatsop County Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance 2057 to approve the county’s Economic Opportunities Analysis (EOA) and incorporate its findings and recommendations into the Clatsop County Comprehensive Plan Goal 9 (Economic Development).
Planning Manager Jay Blaine told the board the document had been the subject of public outreach across the county and that the Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) had sent an email stating it had no comments or concerns about the document’s format or content. The ordinance came to the board for a second reading and the required public hearing; no members of the public registered to speak either remotely or in person, and the public hearing was closed.
Commissioners praised the outreach and the EOA as a tool for future economic decision-making. The board moved, seconded and adopted Ordinance 2057 by voice vote. Planning Manager Blaine was recognized by the board for his work and referenced his upcoming retirement.
