The Pawtucket Board of License Commissioners filed a communication from Captain Dino Giorgio of the Pawtucket Police Department regarding Aloha Restaurant & Lounge (904 Main Street) and approved a separate one-day expansion petition for another Aloha event with restrictions.
Councilor Gregor told the board he had expected a more complete police narrative about calls for service connected with the restaurant and said the captain’s communication appeared to cover only specific event dates. Gregor said he had been told multiple incidents occurred during the period in question, including arrests and responses for large crowds. The board filed the captain’s communication and asked police to follow up.
Separately, petitioner Miguel (transcribed as 'Mister Lopez') sought an expansion for a July 5 outdoor patio event. The board approved an amended petition limiting outdoor attendance to no more than 40 additional people, ambient (speaker) music only, no DJs or staged entertainment, and asked the police department to periodically check the event. Councilor Gregor said the board would expect the police department to submit a report after the event on how the check-ins went.
The board earlier filed the police communication about past events; Councilor Gregor described the filed report as incomplete and asked Captain Giorgio to look into additional reports the council had referenced.
