The City of Conway Community Appearance Board on a unanimous voice vote approved a pin-mounted PVC wall sign and exterior paint change for Kenny & Fig at 1119 Third Avenue.
Board staff told members the applicant corrected a measurement discrepancy between the sign and the sign inset included in packet materials. Staff said the building facade where the sign would be mounted totals roughly 720 square feet and the city's Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) allows up to 108 square feet of sign coverage for that facade. The applicant's sign measures about 17 feet wide by 1 foot 10 inches high, and staff said both the sign and the inset meet UDO sizing requirements.
Staff also said the applicant plans to mount the sign to the existing brick (pin-mounted) so it will not fully cover the brick inset. The applicant proposed painting the building a Sherwin-Williams “plum brown” color and confirmed the visible inset would remain the lighter tone shown in the packet images. The applicant was present to answer questions.
A board member moved to approve the application “as submitted,” a second was given, and the board voted in favor.
The board did not discuss any conditions beyond the submitted materials. Staff will track the permit and installation to ensure the sign and paint match the approved renderings.
