The Revere Zoning Board of Appeals voted to grant a variance for construction of a carport at 87 Jones Road.
The board approved the variance at its June 25 meeting, subject to standard conditions: the variance rights must be exercised within one year or they lapse; the appellant must record the variance and plan in the Suffolk County Registry of Deeds and submit recording information to the city clerk and building inspector; and the appellant must obtain site plan review approval before applying for a building permit.
The applicant, Michael Trapeuler of 87 Jones Road, appeared at the hearing and confirmed he understands that, if the variance is approved, he must seek required permits from the building department. After the chair closed both sides of the public hearing with no proponents or opponents appearing, board members conducted a roll-call vote and approved the variance.
Chairman Tucker led the roll-call vote. Members voting in favor were Mister Lemina, Mister Lopes, Mister O'Brien and Miss Pratt; Mister Pelton was absent. The board recorded the action as a granted variance and noted the standard recording and permit conditions that must be met before construction proceeds.
The board did not receive public comment for or against the application at the hearing. The decision now requires the applicant to complete the recording and permitting steps specified in the board’s conditions before building may begin.
