Ocala magistrate approves $14,696.86 lien for 719 NW Fifteenth Avenue after abatement

Staff reported hard costs of $12,391.86 and that fines had accrued to a total of $46,100; staff recommended assessing 5% of the accrued fine ($2,305) in addition to hard costs, for a total lien request of $14,696.86. The magistrate found notice properly provided, that the respondent did not appear, and approved the requested lien.
The magistrate’s order states the lien amount and the record does not reflect any payment or appeal by the respondent during the hearing. The city will file the approved lien with county records as the next administrative step.
