Coffey County commissioners approve minutes, two housing‑authority mortgage releases and extend executive session

Second, the board approved a motion authorizing the chairman to sign a real estate mortgage release acknowledging satisfaction and full debt secured by Nancy Looney (Lots 14–18, Block 22, Maxim and Budes Addition to Lebo, Coffey County, Kansas; mortgage recorded in Book N‑311, pages 19–20) after a motion and second; the board voted aye and the motion carried.
The board then moved into executive session to discuss personnel matters of non‑elected personnel related to job performance under the Kansas Open Meetings Act (K.S.A. 75‑4319(b)(1)). The motion to enter executive session for 15 minutes was moved by Commissioner Thompson, seconded by Commissioner Abendroth, and approved by voice vote. After the initial 15 minutes, the board approved a motion to extend that executive session for an additional 10 minutes under the same grounds; the motion was moved by Commissioner Thompson and seconded by Commissioner McCurry and carried by voice vote. Commissioners announced upon returning from executive session that no action would be taken.
Later in the meeting the board approved a five‑minute attorney‑client executive session under K.S.A. 75‑4319(b)(2) to discuss a payroll notice; the motion was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The board reported no action after that session.
Ending: The motions approved were procedural authorizations and executive sessions; no substantive policy changes or contracts were finalized on the record at the meeting.
