Summary
An SBA public information officer told Woodford County Fiscal Court about available disaster loans for homeowners, renters, nonprofits and businesses following recent floods, and said the application deadline has been extended to July 25; a Disaster Recovery Center is open at the county senior center.
Harold Nunez, a public information officer with the U.S. Small Business Administration, told the Woodford County Fiscal Court the SBA offers long-term, low-interest disaster loans to homeowners, renters, businesses and nonprofits affected by the county’s recent floods.
Nunez said homeowners may be eligible for up to $500,000 for physical damage and up to $100,000 for contents; renters may qualify for up to $100,000 for personal property; and businesses and nonprofits may qualify for up to $2,000,000 for physical damages and up to $2,000,000 for economic injury or reduced sales.
He said there is a 12-month payment deferral option, flexible terms and that applicants may apply and later decline if they choose. Nunez said the SBA partners with FEMA at the Disaster Recovery Center in the county senior center and that the SBA had extended its application deadline to July 25. He gave a contact number for questions recorded in the meeting as +1 806592955.
Nunez urged residents to visit the local Disaster Recovery Center for face-to-face assistance and encouraged neighbors and community groups to help spread the word to people still recovering.
The court heard the informational presentation; no formal vote was required.
