Justice building nears completion; open house set for July 10

Jeff Fuller, director of Building and Grounds, told Kootenai County commissioners on June 24 that construction on the justice complex is nearing completion and that contractors are working on punch‑list items.
Fuller said the lower‑level courtyard concrete work is active and that Level 3 is complete while the lower level is nearly finished. He said a large furniture delivery is scheduled for Thursday covering Levels 1 and 2, with assembly continuing through July 9, and an open house is scheduled for July 10 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Fuller also said county staff received a quote from Devise Moving Company to assist with moving departments into the new facility. He told commissioners that the move would be paid from the facility furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) budget and that the expense was already budgeted.
Commissioners asked for more quotes; Fuller said staff would present the formal contract or signature item at the county’s business meeting. No formal contract award or vendor approval occurred at the June 24 status meeting.
