City approves 2.5% across-the-board pay increase for non-union employees

Midwest City Council voted June 24 to grant a 2.5% across-the-board increase to base salaries for city employees who are not covered by collective-bargaining agreements, effective July 1, 2025.
Staff said the measure followed budget discussions and was timed to coincide with anticipated changes in labor agreements; council members noted the city will monitor police and fire bargaining-unit settlements and, if those settlements exceed 2.5%, the council is committed to adjusting non-union pay to preserve equity.
The motion carried by voice vote. Council members thanked staff and expressed support for acknowledging employee costs of living.
