Her daughter, Shigayla Lougy, said she suffered skin lesions and was prescribed medication after waking up covered in bites; she also said a loose board fell on her and caused neck pain that required ER attention.
Council members acknowledged the complaints. Councilmember Goslar said the complex is in his ward and that code enforcement is familiar with the situation; he said the case remains on the city’s radar. Council staff referenced past outreach and inspection activity and encouraged residents to use city complaint channels so staff can pursue enforcement when appropriate.
No specific enforcement action was taken during the meeting; the public-comment record shows residents asked the council to press property managers to repair conditions and improve safety.
