The Town of Collierville recognized Police Captain Draper for graduating from the FBI National Academy during a special presentation at the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting.
Police Chief Dale Lane described the FBI National Academy as the premier law enforcement leadership school in the United States, saying fewer than 1% of officers attend. Chief Lane summarized the academy—s 10-week program in Quantico, Virginia, which includes graduate- and undergraduate-level courses (accredited through the University of Virginia) and subjects such as terrorism, intelligence theory, management science, behavioral science and forensics, along with weekly physical fitness challenges culminating in a rigorsix-plus-mile "yellow brick road" course.
Chief Lane said Captain Draper took all graduate-level courses in his five-class load, noted Draper—s role as assistant commander of the CPD SWAT team and his recent promotion to captain in January 2025, and congratulated him on receiving a yellow brick to commemorate completing the physical challenge. Captain Draper accepted thanks and emphasized the value of partnerships between law enforcement and the community.
Mayor Maureen Frazier and members of the board joined staff to congratulate Captain Draper and posed for a photo at the conclusion of the presentation.
