County and project staff updated the court on progress at the new Rockwall County Annex, funded in part with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
Project manager Niko said construction is on schedule and under budget. The contractor has largely completed landscaping and exterior flat work; interior finishing activities such as resilient flooring, carpet, wall base and electrical trim‑out are underway. The first furniture delivery — described as the bulk of the furniture — is scheduled to arrive this Friday, with a second package expected about five to six weeks later.
Staff said the county network and AV systems will be brought online in the coming weeks and that a temporary certificate of occupancy is expected once final inspections and punch lists are complete. Project leadership credited on‑site safety enforcement and routine pre‑punch inspections being performed by the contractor.
The court received photos and a brief schedule; no funding action was required at the meeting.
