The council member said the survey work and map review showed areas including the Ventures property and routes toward Dugway Road appear on county records as Mantua real property rather than mere rights-of-way. The speaker advised that some of the parcels have not been used for many years and may have fences across them, but ownership appears to remain with the town.
Officials and staff said that if the town wishes to open or sell the parcels, it should consult the town attorney; recorded deeds and title searches may be needed because county records and on-the-ground use can differ from legal title. The council member said they had spoken with county staff and secretaries and were told the town still owns the parcels; further legal work was recommended before any action.
