Lance (deputy/assistant administrator) and Solid Waste Director Dave Hagenbusher (present in the meeting room) told supervisors the company’s financier asked for the extension to ensure the agreement remains intact if the deadline is not met. Staff reported that Verity was making progress and expected to begin transmitting landfill gas to the processing plant for injection into the pipeline in July. The resolution before the board was described as including amendments that aim to mitigate financial risk to the county.
Supervisors asked questions about reasons for the delay. Staff said the extension request is linked to financing conditions; they said project milestones are being met and that July would see initial gas transmission for processing.
