Huntington Municipal Building Authority approves 2025 budget adjustment, adopts 2026 budget

Mary Norton, chair of the Huntington Municipality Municipal Building Authority, opened the public hearing on June 18, 2025 and led the board through routine business and two budget resolutions.

The authority approved Resolution 7-2025 to adjust the 2025 MBA budget, increasing the budgeted revenue and expenses from $41,830 to $46,230. The motion to adopt Resolution 7-2025 was made by Judd and seconded by Tom Kaye; board members Gloria Wilson, Judd, Devin Wilson, Lisa Miller and Tom Kaye recorded “aye” votes and the motion passed.

The board also considered and adopted Resolution 8-2025 setting the MBA fiscal year 2026 budget. The motion to adopt Resolution 8-2025 was made by Tom Kaye and seconded by Devin Wilson; Gloria Wilson, Judd, Devin Wilson, Lisa Miller and Tom Kaye recorded “aye” votes and the motion passed.

During the public hearing portion of the meeting, a speaker stated that the authority would increase revenue and expenses on the municipal building authority budget from $41,830 to $46,230. A separate spoken figure during the hearing stated fiscal year 2026 revenue and expenses at $43,410; however, the resolution adopted by the board set the MBA fiscal year 2026 budget at $86,820 as recorded in the meeting.

The board approved the MBA minutes from the June 18, 2024 meeting earlier in the session; that approval was recorded with two “aye” responses on the motion. There were no members of the public who addressed the board during the public hearing (the chair noted a meeting employee was present but no external public comments were received).

The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Gloria Wilson, seconded by Lisa Miller, and a recorded “aye.” The authority adjourned following that vote.
