Pursuant to Assembly Rule 96, the Assembly re‑referred several Senate bills by unanimous consent, including (as read on the floor) SB 572 (Gonzales) from transportation to judiciary and back to transportation; SB 601 (Allen) from environmental safety and toxic materials to judiciary and back; SB 614 (Stern) from natural resources to utilities and energy and back; SB 627 (Wiener) from local government to public safety; SB 733 (Wahab) from housing to development and then to public safety; and SB 847 (Reyes) from insurance to judiciary and back to insurance. These changes were announced on the floor and accepted without objection.
At the request of the author, the Assembly removed an item (listed as AB 470) from the consent calendar earlier in the session. Later floor actions concerning AB 470 are reported separately.
The Assembly took up the second‑day consent calendar and adopted Assembly Concurrent Resolution 93 (Dixon) relative to aromatic L‑amino acid decarboxylase deficiency awareness day and Assembly Concurrent Resolution 95 (Culver) relative to the 2025 Day of Yoga. The clerk recorded the votes on the consent calendar items; the tallies were read as 64 yes, 0 no for the items presented.
Other routine procedural requests accepted by unanimous consent included a temporary suspension of Assembly Rule 45.5 to permit Assemblymembers Rubio and Michelle Rodriguez to speak on an adjournment in memory, and a suspension of Assembly Rule 118(a) to allow members to have guests seated on the floor for a limited time. The Speaker also recognized several guest introductions and requests for adjournment in memory during the session.
