RDA approves two small-lot sales, tables larger parcel proposals as parking, utilities and alternatives are researched

The York City Redevelopment Authority on June 18 approved two redevelopment agreements for small infill lots and deferred decisions on two larger clusters of vacant parcels while staff researches parking easements, utility connections and alternative uses.

The board unanimously approved an agreement to convey 534 North Beaver Street to Vaughn Rimmel (presented as "Vaughn Rimmel") for construction of a two-story, for-sale house. RDA staff noted the lot has no current water or sewer connections and will require utility work and some tree removal; the agreed sale price in the packet and motion was $2,500.

The board also unanimously approved the sale of 352 North Newberry Street to Keyon (Keon) Porter for $5,000, with a proposed duplex shown in the buyer's concept materials and the buyer indicating an intention to rent to tenants through a supportive-housing program. Staff noted the parcel borders Farquhar Park and suggested a recorded easement arrangement could allow shared gravel parking that would benefit the park and the new home.
