The Queen Creek Unified District board approved an amendment to the superintendent’s contract covering fiscal years 2025 through 2028 to correct a scrivener’s error, board members said at the meeting.
A board member moved to approve the amendment and another board member seconded the motion; the chair called for the vote and two “Aye” responses were recorded, after which the motion was declared approved.
The amendment was described on the dais as a correction to a scrivener’s error in the contract language; no further substantive changes to salary, term length or responsibilities were discussed on the record. The board did not provide additional detail about the specific drafting change during the public portion of the meeting.
After the vote the board made routine calendar announcements. Members noted upcoming study sessions at 4:30 p.m. followed by regular sessions at 6:00 p.m. on July 8 and Aug. 5, and a 4:30 p.m. study session with a 6:00 p.m. regular session on Sept. 9. The board listed July calendar events including offices closed in July, new-teacher orientation July 14–15, the Mountain Trail Academy ribbon-cutting and teachers’ report on July 16, and the first day of school on July 21.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn was moved, seconded and approved.
