Votes at a glance: Siloam Springs board approves GMP, hires, contracts, curriculum and governance changes

The Siloam Springs School District Board of Education approved a series of consent and action items during its June meeting, including a guaranteed maximum price for work at the intermediate school, several contracted specialist agreements, a summer hire list and dozens of licensed hires, adoption of a middle- and high-school health textbook, changes to board terms and organization, and routine financial authorizations.

The board voted to approve the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the intermediate-school construction and drainage work presented by CR Crawford at $1,167,876 (document cited in meeting materials). That GMP will be offset in part by a safety grant the district obtained for roughly $236,000; district staff said they are pursuing an extension of the grant build deadline with the state.

Separately the board approved two vendor contracts for student services under BlazerWorks/Soliant: a school psychologist contract for Victoria Brooks and a speech-language pathologist contract for Bailey Boyds (assistive-technology expertise). The board also approved a summer hire list for hourly and short-term summer work, and later approved a slate of licensed hires recommended by district staff (listed below).
