Harrisburg board advances contracts, staffing changes and capital projects toward action; several immediate approvals ratified

The Harrisburg City School District Board of School Directors and the receiver on June 17 approved a set of immediate personnel and contracting motions, sent multiple items to the June 24 general business meeting for final action, and ratified two immediate administrative actions.

Immediate approvals: In a meeting chaired by the board secretary, the receiver approved several items presented as immediate action.

- Effective School Solutions: The board approved a three-year renewal agreement with Effective School Solutions to provide tier 2 and 3 clinical mental-health supports, professional development and coaching services from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028, at a cost listed in the agenda at $1,898,983 per year; the contracting motion was finalized as an immediate action item.

- Other immediate academic items approved included the ratification of two Renaissance Education quotes for products and on-site training (no cost to the district listed for training), the purchase of TalkingPoints translation services for $15,800 (funded by Title III), and a memorandum of understanding with Dauphin County Children and Youth to establish transportation procedures for foster-care youth at no cost to the district.
