The sheriff summarized documented services and transport metrics for May: total documented services numbered 89; paid-services revenue reported at $1,701.46 and no-charge services at $1,055.16. Deputies logged 5,859 total transport miles. Federal transport miles were elevated at 1,027 miles for the month.
The sheriff also reported on facility occupancy and juvenile-center revenue: the county jail had a monthly per-diem income of $133,488 with 69 per-diem-paying inmates; the juvenile center reported $93,618 in income and had two secured and seven nonsecure juveniles in custody (9 of 16 beds occupied). Staffing challenges persist: four open correction positions (three in the jail, one in the juvenile center) and four recent resignations over the past month.
Calls-for-service data for May included 2,667 dispatch calls (794 emergency calls, 1,873 nonemergencies). The office logged 801 primary-code calls for service, 21 reported assaults, 198 civil processes served, domestic incident counts high at eight (some violent), three DUI arrests, 14 tip-line reports, seven juvenile complaints, 24 motor assists and 10 property‑damage crashes. Traffic enforcement included 215 traffic stops, 15 traffic complaints and two traffic-hazard calls. Welfare checks totaled nine for the month.
Sheriff Tadman also described a recent unusual response: deputies pursued and located a naked man who had broken into a residence; the individual was detained, medically evaluated for dehydration and minor cuts and booked into the county correctional facility.
Ending: The sheriff said background checks are underway for patrol candidates and that the office recently placed a community-service officer into patrol training; staffing recruitment remains a priority.
