The Board of Supervisors approved Amendment 1 to the agreement with Nordhammer Art Foundry to extend the timeline for design, fabrication and installation of a Lake Pomo family sculpture at the historic courthouse museum.
Public Services Director Lars Ewing and museum staff presented a maquette of the work and described progress on casting life-size bronze figures and site planning. Ewing said the board-approved contract for the foundry was delayed by personal issues at the foundry but that the work was well underway, including life-size castings. Staff recommended a six-month no-cost extension to 12/30/2025 to permit completion and installation.
Approved action: The board approved the amendment and directed staff to coordinate final steps toward project completion. Contract costs reported in staff materials show the foundry contract at approximately $230,000; project funding comes from donations, tribal contributions and a prior board allocation.
