Authority hires WSP for terminal access lanes study to address rideshare congestion

Jared introduced the item as Part A of a project to study and plan a new lane (or double lane) between the terminal lower level and the garage to relocate rideshare pickup activity. The scope includes forecast demand modeling for rideshare over the coming decades and development of configuration options for road layout and facilities. Staff said the project was safety-driven and combines planning and engineering elements.
The board moved, seconded and approved the contract; the roll-call vote included one abstention recorded in the transcript. The study will inform future capital work to separate rideshare operations from the ground transportation center.
Staff will receive WSP’s planning alternatives and demand forecasts and bring recommendations back to the board for any construction approvals.
