Authority authorizes temporary FedEx use of Hangar 1A and composite shop through December

The Indianapolis Airport Authority authorized the executive director to execute Addendum No. 1 to the amended and restated land and special facility lease with FedEx Corp., allowing temporary use of IMC Hangar 1A and the composite shop from June 1 through Dec. 31, 2025.
Staff described the request as temporary space to support a lengthy repair on a Boeing 767; Boeing will be on site to perform the work. FedEx will begin storing parts in the composite shop on June 1 and will activate Hangar 1A effective July 1. Monthly revenue cited in the presentation was $10,954 for the composite shop and $44,391 for Hangar 1A, producing roughly $343,000 in total revenue to the Authority for the term described.
Presenters credited the airport fire-rescue team with saving the aircraft after an on-aircraft fire, allowing the repair to proceed rather than the aircraft being written off. Because FedEx was completing internal approvals, staff requested authorization for the executive director to execute the addendum when FedEx finishes its sign-offs.
The board moved and seconded the authorization and approved by roll-call vote during the meeting. The addendum is a short-term accommodation to support aircraft repair and generate authority revenue during the six‑to‑seven month period described.
