The Moroni City Council directed city staff on May 15 to assess market value and sale options for four surplus vehicles before returning to the council for further action.
Staff listed the surplus units as a 2020 Ford F-150 pickup, a 2016 Dodge Charger passenger car, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and a 1987 International dump truck. Council discussion focused on whether to sell the items by informal sale or bid and on how to reinvest proceeds; councilmembers expressed interest in keeping at least one vehicle for nonemergency use if replacement costs made retention preferable.
Action taken: motion by Sherry Green, seconded by Jake Bagley, to research a reasonable sale value for the listed surplus vehicles and return to council with recommendations; motion carried.
Next steps: staff will research values, return with recommended sale method and timing, and continue discussion regarding any needed replacement vehicles.
