City staff identified two projects for the city’s estimated SB 1 allocation of $167,784: reconstruction of West Oak Street (South Marshall Avenue to South Murdoch Avenue) and full reconstruction of the Madrone Manor cul‑de‑sac. City Engineer John Wenger told the council both streets are in poor condition and that Oak Street was prioritized because it serves as a feeder to Sycamore Park and a Caltrans Clean California grant project.
The resolution commits the city to incorporate the SB 1 funds into the adopted budget and submit the project list to the state by July 1, as required by SB 1 regulations. Council member discussion touched on sidewalk and curb‑ramp work included with West Oak Street and on whether heavy franchise vehicles contributed to Madrone Manor’s deterioration; staff said the city receives a franchise fee from the hauler that can be used for street repairs.
The council approved the staff recommendation by roll‑call vote (5–0). Mayor Evan Hudson and council members Busby, Pride, Hanson and Vice Mayor Richard Thomas all recorded “aye.”
