Fiscal court approves interlocal agreement to form Litchfield–Grayson County economic development board

Grayson County fiscal court voted to approve a resolution authorizing an interlocal cooperation agreement with the City of Litchfield to establish the Litchfield–Grayson County Economic Development Board.

County staff member Jeremy summarized the action as “boilerplate” and said the resolution and interlocal cooperation agreement formalize the basic structure needed to begin forming the joint board. He said the agreement “does not include the meat and potatoes of how the economic award will operate” and that the law firm drafting the documents prepared the boilerplate language.

The court moved to approve the resolution; the motion was made by Darren and seconded by Brian. The court chair called for the vote and recorded all in favor.

Jeremy said the approval gives county leadership and staff the authority to complete the remaining steps in cooperation with city officials, including the city’s own resolution and the law firm work already in progress. No additional budget details or board bylaws were provided at the meeting.
