The committee voted to send Mayor Aralampalam’s nomination of Timothy Fisher to the Civilian Police Review Board to the full City Council with a favorable recommendation on May 8.
Timothy Fisher introduced himself to the committee and said he is a Hartford Public High School graduate, lives in the West End, is retired from the University of Connecticut and has observed recent Civilian Police Review Board meetings. "I believe deeply in its mission and am very interested in in helping the board develop a good working relationship with the department and its leadership," Fisher said.
Councilwoman Kelly Bilodeau moved to forward the nomination with a favorable recommendation; the motion was seconded and the committee chair announced, "The ayes have it," sending the appointment to the full council.
The position is an unpaid civilian board appointment; committee members thanked Fisher for his willingness to serve and noted he completed training for new board members earlier in the year.
