Talawanda board approves routine finance and personnel items, establishes termination benefits fund; limits on public contact adopted

The Talawanda City School District Board of Education on Thursday approved a slate of financial and personnel items, voted to create a special fund for future termination benefits and adopted a resolution restricting an individual’s in-person contact with board members after a reported physical incident.

The board voted unanimously to approve a block of routine finance items—listed on the agenda as items 4a through 4o—and later unanimously approved a resolution to establish Fund 035, a termination benefits fund allowed under the Ohio Revised Code for setting aside money to pay contractual sick‑leave and vacation payouts at retirement. The board also approved a bundled set of personnel actions (items 5a–5g); that package passed 4–1, with one board member voting no.
