Third Street sidewalk project wins SCA grant; city share to be covered by SDCs

Public works and city staff said the project was estimated at roughly $307,000; the city's portion was described in the meeting as approximately $37,300 and staff said that amount could be paid from Street System Development Charge (SDC) funds so that it would not require a transfer from the street fund.
Public works staff also reported other operational matters: the water plant is producing a consistent inflow (400 gallons per minute referenced in the report) and wastewater operations completed a year of upgrades to pumps; staff said they will address a few unmetered lines identified during recent checks. The city also noted availability for backflow testing to be scheduled through Public Works.
Council thanked public works staff for the grant outcome and noted the project will proceed with the SCA grant covering most costs and SDCs covering the city portion. Staff said engineering reports and invoices will continue to be monitored as the project moves forward.
