Subcommittee decertifies a batch of officers by default; several cases reset or deferred

At a single point in the meeting the subcommittee read multiple names submitted for decertification and voted to decertify by default those whose agencies did not appear or did not contest the submissions.
Names read and acted on included: Stephen Wilson (Hendersonville Police Department), James Benton (Lebanon Police Department), Brian M. Ray (Harris Police Department), Michael Asghari (Shelby County Sheriff's Office), Mackenzie Cross (Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security), Ronald Davis (Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security; case reset to July), and others. The subcommittee noted Chad M. Garland (Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security) had a family matter and would be handled separately; Ronald Davis’s case was explicitly reset to July at the department’s request.
Commissioners moved for decertification by default for the listed names and approved the motion by voice vote. The panel said departments present could follow up with the investigator if they wished to contest or provide additional information.
Separately during the meeting the subcommittee noted other cases were being continued or reset to July to allow counsel and investigators to finalize agreed orders, preserve evidence, or accommodate absent counsel.
