Lake County officials outline emergency preparedness activities; large-animal rescue training set for June 8

"Yesterday, No. Last week, on, Wednesday, I went to the South Lake County Fire Council meeting, and we did a, video on home hardening at the Middletown fire station. Went to the geothermal, meeting at Calpine, and that was a really cool meeting. It went over, the earthquakes and what creates the earthquakes and the reinjection," Supervisor 4 said.
Supervisor 4 also said they met with local education and public-works officials to review emergency evacuation planning at Coyote Valley Elementary. "Friday, I met with Jeff Crane, the Middletown Superintendent, and the Middletown Unified School District, Community Service District, Public Works at Coyote Valley, Elementary to look at emergency, evacuation in that area," Supervisor 4 said.
On animal rescue, Supervisor 4 said county and fire-district officials met in Clear Lake to plan capabilities for rescuing large animals during accidents and evacuations. "We're putting something together for that. We will actually be having a large animal training on June 8 at Owen Ranch, and we have NorCal Livestock Evacuation coming up doing the training, and it's gonna be open to everybody, so if anybody wants to come," Supervisor 4 said.
Supervisor 4 also reported a home-hardening video produced at the Middletown fire station and attended a presentation by Glenn March to the Lake County Recreation Agency on road conditions and upkeep. The supervisor described NorCal Livestock Evacuation as the training provider for the June 8 session.
