The motion to advance the nominations was made by Senator Carnley and seconded by Senator Shellnut, after which the presiding senator called for a voice vote. "All in favor, say aye," the presiding senator said. Committee members answered "Aye" and the presiding senator declared both promotions approved and ordered the nominations moved to the Senate floor.
The committee called the nominees by name—Eric Terry and Albert Strickland—but did not record either in attendance. Committee minutes indicate the nominations will be considered by the full Senate following the committee's action.
Before adjourning, the presiding senator publicly thanked Kelly Manning, the committee clerk, noting this was her first session as a clerk in the state house and praising her work. The committee then adjourned.
