Federal review finds Evansville MPO planning process meets federal requirements for four years

Staff reported that Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration, together with the DOTs, completed a certification review of the Evansville MPO's planning process earlier this year. The review included a local tabletop review and public involvement opportunities.

Per staff, the review concluded that the planning process for the Evansville Metropolitan Planning Area "complies with the spirit and intent of the federal MPO planning laws and regulations," and the MPO's planning process was certified for another four years. Staff noted the certification documentation will include any commendations, recommendations and corrective actions if necessary; none that would prevent certification were reported in the meeting.

Board members present offered brief congratulations for the successful certification.
