The board awarded the low bids as presented: 206 East Florida Street (raise fire-damaged house) to Steadily Excavating for $5,830; 1 West Florida Street (raise commercial building and attached shed) to Velpen for $8,350; 1018 North Garvin Street (raise fire-damaged house) to Steadily Excavating for $6,509; 1719 South New York Avenue (raise house, garage and fence section) to Veil for $8,100; 1351 Pollock Avenue (raise fire-damaged house) to Steadily Excavating for $7,171; and 518 East Powell Avenue (raise garage only) to Steadily Excavating for $2,389.
A commissioner moved to accept the bids and proceed with the property raisings; the motion carried by voice vote. The board instructed staff to proceed with contract paperwork and scheduling for demolition/raising and to manage any required notices to property owners and adjacent parties.
