Ag education instructor Brent Aart and FFA students presented supervised agricultural experience (SAE) projects to the board, describing student‑led, hands‑on projects in swine, beef, sheep and crop production.
Students described business activities, record keeping and outcomes. Maddie Holt recounted selling roughly 50 show pigs in 2024 at about $250 each and said raising pigs is costly despite revenue; she reported having about $300 in her account but net sales of approximately $12,500 in 2024. Another student described owning five registered South Devon cattle, calving events and using the AET record‑keeping app to track time, expenses and herd records. Students also reported a flock of 23 ewes with 15 lambs born this spring.
Brent Aart told the board the SAE program logged roughly 500 student hours over the year and students' inventory on hand totaled about $30,000. AET (the program's online record book) is used to track time, production and to support scholarship and degree applications. The board praised the students for placing in regional and state FFA competitions and for scholarship work.
No formal board action was required for the presentations.
