The City of St. Petersburg recognized 10 local volunteers as the 2025 Senior Hall of Fame inductees and said the group represents nearly 975 years of combined volunteer service to the community.
Lucinda (Parks & Recreation) introduced the inductees at the council meeting; Mayor Kenneth T. Welch said the city values seniors’ contributions. Lucinda said the 41st anniversary event honored 40 nominees and that 10 of those nominees were inducted at the ceremony. She read the names of the 2025 inductees: Sue Allen; Doctor Davis Barris; Wallace Tall Bratton; Jack Fletcher; Antoinette Instone; Paulette Jones; Kathy Michaels; David Middleton; Joanne Rainey; and Jeffrey Thomas. Lucinda also said two nominees who could not attend had joined earlier events and that those present received “Keys to the Sea.”
Council members offered thanks and recognition: Councilmember Brandy Gabbard said she was “inspired” by the volunteers and noted they contributed hundreds of years of service; Council members and the mayor thanked Parks & Recreation staff for organizing the event. The celebration was presented as part of older Americans and senior recognition activities; city staff asked attendees to hold applause while names were read and took a group photo.
The council did not take any formal legislative action on the item; it was presented as an award and recognition on the council’s agenda.
