May 5, San Francisco — The Rules Committee continued two appointment items to the "call of the chair" after candidates did not appear: one for the SoMa Community Stabilization Fund Community Advisory Committee and one for the Housing Stability Fund Oversight Board.
Grace Lee of the Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) told the committee that the SoMa Community Stabilization Fund Community Advisory Committee was established in 2006 to advise MOHCD and the Board of Supervisors on expenditures from the fund. She said the committee has seven seats and that the vacancy represents the Leather and LGBTQ Cultural District; Dandy Buckley had applied but was delayed in traffic and did not attend. "We were thrilled when Dandy Buckley, also a member of this community, stepped up to submit their application for this empty seat," Lee said, and she signaled support for the nomination.
The clerk and chair agreed to move the items later on the agenda and ultimately to continue both matters to the call of the chair. For the Housing Stability Fund Oversight Board item, the committee recorded that no candidates were present; the motion to continue passed with one member absent.
No public speakers addressed either item at the time the committee considered them. The clerk earlier noted that items acted on by the Rules Committee are expected to appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda of May 13 unless otherwise stated.
