Commissioners approve permits, contracts and two resolutions in unanimous votes

Fulton County commissioners at their May 5 meeting approved a slate of permits and routine contracts, unanimously adopting two resolutions and authorizing several department contract signatures.
The board voted 3-0 to approve permit requests numbered 2517 through 2520, covering a residential electrical service (5725 South Old US 31), perimeter drain tile installation in a county right-of-way, and two City of Rochester requests to install water mains under County Road 50 East and County Bridge 100 South. The commissioners recorded the motions as made, seconded and carried 3-0.
Commissioners also approved authorizing county staff to sign multiple contracts: permission for a county employee named John to sign an NDOT County bridge inspection contract (motion carried 3-0); permission for Carrie to sign a courthouse elevator repair contract valued at $49,761.06 (motion carried 3-0); and permission for Deb to sign the Laredo subscription contract that will be passed along to subscribers (motion carried 3-0).
The board adopted Resolution 5052025, “authorizing the filing of a CY 2026 application for a grant under section 53.11/53.39 of the Federal Transit Act as amended,” by motion and a 3-0 vote. Commissioners also approved Resolution 05052025 accepting a utility study funded through a Community Development Block Grant (see separate article on the study).
Other routine business approved by unanimous votes included approval of the April 21 minutes, multiple appropriations and transfers as listed in the meeting packet, travel authorizations (with notes on per diem adjustments), and claims and payroll reports presented at the meeting.
The votes were recorded on the floor as motions made, seconded and carried 3-0; no roll-call dissent or abstentions were recorded in the transcript.
