Legislature honors Our Lady of Victory Pee Wee girls basketball team for undefeated championship season

The Rensselaer County Legislature on April 8 paused its business to present a resolution recognizing the Our Lady of Victory Church Pee Wee girls basketball team for a 20–0 championship season.
Legislator Casal introduced the presentation and read the resolution noting the team’s undefeated season, a victory in the OLV holiday tournament on Dec. 29, 2024, and triumph in the 15th annual Kinderhook Spring Classic tournament in late February 2025. The resolution names coaches Brian Eastman and Kyle Bergault and lists players from both sixth- and fifth-grade rosters by name.
Coach Brian Eastman addressed the chamber and thanked the Legislature and the families who supported the team. "It was certainly a pleasure for me to coach my younger daughter in her season... I’m very blessed to have been a part of your perfect 20–0 season," he said. Coach Kyle Bergault also thanked the parents and noted the season’s intensity and team commitment.
The resolution commends the players, coaches, and support staff, and directs that a copy of the resolution be transmitted to the coaches and families. The transcript records applause and a standing ovation for the team.
